Chris Irrgang

Chris Irrgang had no idea that she would find a new passion when she walked into her first yoga class in 2007.  In early 2013, she received her online Yoga certification.  After teaching in various gyms and studios in the area, she completed the 200-hour certification program with Yoga Dharma of Huntsville.  During the 300-hour certification course, Chris was required to assist her mentor for 6 classes.  She chose to assist in the Yoga for 50+ class that her mentor had just started.  The 6-class requirement turned into a year and half long immersion in teaching the Aging Gracefully community.  While assisting, she developed the skills for working with older adults and was inspired to create her own classes for that age group.  Eventually, all her other classes have given way to only teaching the Aging Gracefully community.  Chris is certified and registered with Yoga Alliance at the ERYT-500 level.

Working with the older community comes naturally to Chris.  Being an only child, she has always been around older people.  Grandparents and even Great-grandparents were always around.  They were with whom she spent most of her time.  Having always been around an older generation, she has seen firsthand their challenges and what they can do.  Now that Chris is in her 50’s, she is experiencing these same challenges and is determined to help everyBODY Age Gracefully.

Chris is a Colbert County native and has been married for 30 years to Charlie Irrgang.  They have 2 adult children: William and Catherine.  After yoga, Chris likes to scrapbook, garden, and decorate her house.  Even refinishing furniture when she has time.
